Three things worth knowing before you ask

Card processing is separate

Payments run through your own Stripe account at your own negotiated rates. OAK's 2% sits alongside that — we're not quoting an all-in number and hoping you don't check.

Refunds reverse our fee

Refund a customer and OAK's 2% comes back with it. You shouldn't pay us for a sale that un-happened.

Your customers pay your price

Our 2% comes off your side of the transaction. Nothing is added to your customer's total at checkout — no booking fee, no service fee, nothing.

Why we price this way

A seasonal business shouldn't pay like a year-round one

Rental and recreation businesses don't earn evenly. A beach shop makes its year between May and September; a ski hire makes it between December and March. A flat monthly subscription charges you the same in the dead months as in the busy ones, which is a bad deal dressed up as a predictable one.

Charging a percentage means our income moves with yours. When you're quiet, we're cheap. When you're slammed, we've earned it. And we have a direct reason to care whether your season goes well.

What exactly does the 2% apply to?
Transactions you process through OAK. It's taken from your side of the payment — your customer is charged the price you set, and nothing more.
Is that instead of card processing fees, or on top?
On top, and we'd rather say so clearly. Your card processor charges its own rate for moving the money; OAK's 2% is our fee for running the platform. You keep your own Stripe account and whatever rates you've negotiated.
Do my customers ever see a fee from you?
No. Some booking platforms are free to the business and add a surcharge to the renter's total instead. We don't do that — the price your customer sees is the price they pay, and the fee comes out of our side of the arrangement with you.
Is there a minimum, a contract, or a setup fee?
None of the three. If you don't transact, you don't pay. If you stop, you stop.
What about cash transactions?
The fee is charged on card payments processed through OAK. Cash you take at the counter is yours.
We do very high volume — is 2% still the deal?
Talk to us. There's a flat monthly arrangement that can make more sense past a certain volume, and we'd rather put you on whichever one is genuinely cheaper for your business.
Can I get my data out?
Yes, whenever you like — customers and order history both, including on the way out. It's your business record, not ours.
